The FCM Food For Learning Program

FCM Food for Learning Feeding Program

Your gifts to Fullness in Christ Ministries (FCM) Food For Learning Program help to provide food for undernourished children in the Philippines, like the children in the picture to the left. These children live at a garbage dumpsite. They are happy if they get one good meal a day. Some of them have said they drink a lot of water at night so their stomachs feel full, and then they can get to sleep.

In addition to providing supplemental nutrition to FCM’s 900 sponsored children, extra food is given to siblings and hundreds more children who never have enough to eat at home. It often seems like there is more need than provision. Your gifts are such a blessing to the little ones.

You may not be able to physically go to the Philippines and give food to the hundreds of hungry undernourished children, but if you give even a small amount and combine it with others who give a little, together we can make a big difference for hundreds of poor children. To learn more about the Food For Learning Program, click here. We have options for one-time and recurring donations.

Maybe you are not at a place where you can commit to sponsor a child. Any amount you can send to help with food for the children will be a blessing to them and to you. Many of the children only get to eat one small meal a day. Donate to the Food For Learning Program today by going to this link.

If God speaks to you about making a difference for a child, you can sign up to become a sponsor at the FCM web site at FullnessInChristMinistries.org

Help FCM Break The Cycle of Poverty

Children waiting at the dumpsite for foodThese children, in the picture to the left, live in terrible conditions at a garbage dumpsite in the Philippines. Their playground is piles and piles of trash and garbage. Their homes are scrap wood or cardboard or sometimes sacks or old discarded tarps and other materials gathered from the trash. Many of them work with their parents to sort through the dumped trash, looking for items they can use or sell. They almost never have enough to eat. Some of them tell us they drink a lot of water at night because it fills the stomach when they have no food to eat.

Unless the children who are this poor are sponsored or assisted in some other way, they don’t go to school because their parents don’t have money to buy uniforms and school supplies and pay numerous other required fees. So the cycle of poverty continues as the children grow up uneducated and without work skills.

That cycle of poverty and lack of education can be broken. When a child is sponsored by donors, through Fullness in Christ Ministries, it sets into motion many changes. The children go to school and get supplemental nutrition. The sponsorship opens a door to evangelize to the entire family. It is common for entire households to be saved and baptized and discipled together. Hope rises as the children and their families anticipate a better future.

What a joy to be part of God’s plan to rescue children from poverty and help them prepare for the future. Follow this link to the Fullness in Christ Ministries website, to learn more about how you can sponsor the education of a child and help transform that child’s life.

Maybe you are not at a place where you can commit to sponsor a child. The pastor who ministers to the families, in the garbage dump shown in the picture above, has 17 feeding centers across the area where he feeds and ministers to hundreds of very poor children. Any amount you can send to help with Food For The Children will be a blessing to them and to you. Many of the children only get to eat one small meal a day.

Pray about it. If God speaks to you about making a difference for a child, you can sign up to become a sponsor at Fullness in Christ Ministries‘ web site at FullnessInChristMinistries.org.

Why FCM Sponsorship Is So Important

Kathy was blessed by this group of sponsored young people (shown in the picture below) who are in high school and college. Most of them have been sponsored through Fullness In Christ Ministries (FCM) since elementary school. At the time that they were sponsored, they were hungry and dirty, living (or surviving) in garbage dumps. They were so poor they could not go to school. Just look at them now! We are so proud of them.
2016-03-07 Kathy and youthThe time came when they were sponsored and life changed for them. They went to school. They ate better food and more often so they were healthier and more alert in school. They could now dream of a future that did not include scavenging through trash for things to sell or use. Today they are preparing to be teachers, computer technicians, nurses and caretakers and other professionals. We are VERY proud of them.

All this was made possible by gifts from Partners, Sponsors and Friends who opened their hearts to help these young people.

There are many children at the garbage site who still cannot go to school because they are unable to pay the required fees and buy the necessary school supplies and clothing. If they don’t get an education, they will likely repeat the cycle and continue to live as trash scavengers. Sponsors provide funds for education, nutrition, pastoral care and more. Lives are changed by sponsors.

It is truly amazing what even a small investment of $30 a month per child will make. Pray about it. If God speaks to you about making a difference for a child, you can sign up to become a sponsor at Fullness in Christ Ministries’ web site at FullnessInChristMinistries.org.

A FCM Sponsored Child’s Life: The Story of Miguela

Miguela and Fullness in Christ Ministries

Miguela will be a success in life because she has faith that God will provide for her needs.

This is Miguela, age 15. She lives with her father and two siblings in a tent. Her mother left them. She sometimes looks for discarded bottles and sells them to have a little allowance for snacks at school. Miguela knows that without the help of a Fullness in Christ Ministries (FCM) sponsor she could not go to school. Her two siblings have not been able to go to school because there is not enough money to pay the required expenses.

Here is a letter we received from Miguela yesterday:

I believe that true happiness can be found only in God’s presence. Since I came to know Jesus, I realized that there’s more joy inside of me when I’m busy in doing God’s work than being with my friends outside the church. In school, I never miss joining our activities because it add points to my scholastic records belonging to the higher section, but never would I miss all the activities in our church, especially during our 21 days of prayer every morning in our church from 4:30 a.m. – 6:00 a.m.

It needs love and commitment to do this as a student, but because Jesus is my priority, I am persistent to finish this 21 days of prayer and still continue for another 52 days. And that’s why I am not surprised that God had given me all the blessings that I asked from Him.

Aside from being one of the teachers in the feeding ministry, I also lead cell groups among the sponsored scholars in the Caritas Village, and I’m so blessed because they always attend our cell group and also go to church every Sunday.

I’ve just graduated from my SOKB (School of Kingdom Builders) and hoping to help as assistant teacher next enrollment, because I know God called me to the ministry and it started when I became a scholar, sponsored by FCM.

Thank you very much sponsor for all your support. There’s one thing I need to ask from you. Please help me pray for my father that he also would go to church with us and be saved. God bless.

If you have ever wondered if sponsoring a child in a foreign country really makes a difference, think about Miguela and what her life as a beautiful 15 year old uneducated young woman would be if it were not for a sponsor. As a sponsor, you really will make a big difference in a child’s life. Pray about it. If God speaks to you about making a difference for a child, you can sign up to become a sponsor at Fullness in Christ Ministries‘ web site at FullnessInChristMinistries.org.

FCM Transforms The Philippines One Life At A Time

What is the future of this little boy in the picture? He is very poor Filipino child, who lives in a garbage dump site, and too often, goes without food. Typically, he would grow up to be a trash scavenger, like his parents, and his children would repeat that cycle.

Children can escape poverty

Thanks to FCM sponsors, young children are given an opportunity to escape a lifetime of poverty.

We believe God has a different plan for this child. What if God’s plan is for him to become a government official with the authority to change things in his nation? What if he is the one God will use to bring clean drinking water to the Philippines, thus eliminating many diseases? What if he is the one God will use to improve the education system of the Philippines? What if he is God’s choice to one day be president of the Philippines?

As a Fullness in Christ Ministries (FCM) sponsor, you could be the one to provide him with education, nutrition, and Christian discipleship. You can be part of God’s plan for his life.

Many children, at the garbage dump sites, under the bridges, and in poor squatter areas, still need sponsors. These children wait, hope, and pray, that they will be selected, so they can go to school. Education breaks the cycle of poverty.

Thank you, Partners, Sponsors and Friends, for the support that makes it possible to touch these children with the love of God. Pray for them. Your prayers make a difference.

If you would like to bless the children in the poverty stricken areas, and be a part of what God is doing in the Philippines, let me know.

You can also check out the Fullness in Christ Ministries’ website at FullnessInChristMinistries.org.

Thank you for all you do!

FCM Gives Hope Where There Is None

2016-02-22 Emilie and the childrenThese 3 children live with their father in the garbage dump site of a large city in the Philippines. He is a garbage collector. Emilie, the child in the center, is sponsored. This is her second year to be sponsored and she is so happy to attend school and have everything she needs for her classes. Her parents were also very excited. Her mother was helping prepare and serve food on Saturday mornings.

Then the unthinkable happened. The mother died suddenly. They were devastated. The father said Emilie would have to stay home instead of go to school. She must now care for 3 younger children so he could go to work in order to provide for them. The pastor talked with the father and convinced him that it was important for all the family for Emilie to get an education. He courageously agreed and said he would find someone to care for the children. So Emilie was able to continue in school and she is an honor student with a good future ahead.

She still cares for her younger siblings, including the one shown here in a stroller who is handicapped. The Fullness in Christ Ministries (FCM) mission team currently in the Philippines prayed for the children, especially for healing for little Emilita who does not walk or talk. Will you join us in prayer for this family? For healing, for provision, and for encouragement. It is a lot of responsibility for a 12 year old girl, but Emilie almost always has a smile on her face.

Many children at the garbage dump site still need sponsors and they wait, hope and pray that they will be selected so they can go to school.

Thank you, Partners, Sponsors and Friends  for your support that makes it possible to touch these children with the love of God. Pray for them. Your prayers make a difference.

You can respond by sponsoring children, or helping to feed them, or giving an undesignated gift that can be used where it is needed the most. If God speaks to you about it, visit the Fullness website at www.fullnessinchristministries.org. You will be blessed, knowing you are having a life-changing impact on young lives. You can help shape a new generation of world leaders.

FCM Philippines Mission Trip: Part 3

Fullness in Christ Ministries (FCM) started its annual mission trip to the Philippines the first week of February 2016. A team of seven people from the United States are meeting with 23 pastors, and hundreds of children, out in the field during the three week mission trip. What follows is one of several field updates from the team:

These bright young people, shown in the  picture, are the future of the Philippines. They will grow up to be the leaders in their community, region, and some will become leaders in their nation.2016-02-18 Filipino children

When the team visited, every one of them asked for personal and individual prayer. They know God is the answer to every need they have and they seek after Him.

Most of these children come from poor homes, where they live every day with the hard challenges and great needs which they cannot meet on their own. With the help of sponsors and partners, they are in school and in church. They are building godly character and learning to serve others, just the kind of leaders needed in this world.

Thank you, Sponsors and Friends, for your support that makes it possible to touch these children with the love of God and to help them become all God wants them to be. Pray for them. Your prayers make a difference.

If God speaks to you about it, go to our FCM website at www.fullnessinchristministries.org, to learn more about how to donate to the cause. You can respond by sponsoring children, or helping to feed them, or giving an undesignated gift that can be used where it is needed the most. You will be blessed, knowing you are having a life-changing impact on young lives. You can help shape a new generation of world leaders.

FCM Philippines Mission Trip: Part 2

Fullness in Christ Ministries (FCM) started its annual mission trip to the Philippines the first week of February 2016. A team of seven people from the United States are meeting with 23 pastors, and hundreds of children, out in the field during the three week mission trip. What follows is one of several field updates from the team:

2016-02-16 Pastor Frank“Pastor Frank come play with me,” the little boy in the picture appears to be saying.  When we visited the garbage dumpsite last Saturday, the children were ready to play. They were so happy to see us and enjoyed the bananas and bread and other goodies we brought for them. What they really wanted more than anything was attention and our team gave it to them in abundance.

We also handed out more than 100 toothbrushes and toothpaste that were donated by one of our sponsors back home. They were all so excited. After all the children received them, the mothers came and asked if they could have one, too. Most of the families living here cannot buy a toothbrush for every family member and toothpaste is an unaffordable luxury. The same toothbrush is shared by many. So, such a gift is very special to them.

This location was our first in the Philippines. We have been working in this location for about 15 years. We have watched as sponsored children, who did not have a chance at life, have grown into beautiful, and handsome, young people who are educated, godly servants. They are young people who are in the process of rising out of poverty.

In church on Sunday morning, sponsored young people in high school and college were leading in praise and worship and helping with the younger children. Sponsors made their rise out of poverty possible.

Some would say, “Why do you do this? Don’t you know there will always be poor people?”  My answer to that is “Yes, that is true, but those we help today will not be among the poor tomorrow. There will be another batch.” God likes it when we give to and bless the poor. That is reason enough.

On Saturday, we saw the “next batch” of poor children who need help. Those we saw were young – elementary age. Most are not sponsored. One little girl came to the pastor while we were there and asked if he would accept her to be sponsored. He said she comes to him almost every week and asks the same thing. We could sponsor more than 100 today. God may speak to your heart about being part of what He wants to do among the people and in the nation of the Philippines. You can respond by sponsoring children or helping to feed them through our “Food for Learning” program.

Pray about it. If God speaks to you about being part of what He will do on this remote island, you can visit our website at www.fullnessinchristministries.org to learn more about our programs and to donate to help these children. You will be blessed.

FCM Philippines Mission Trip: Part 1

Fullness in Christ Ministries (FCM) started its annual mission trip to the Philippines the first week of February 2016. A team of seven people from the United States are meeting with 23 pastors, and hundreds of children, out in the field during the three week mission trip. What follows is one of several field updates from the team:

Yesterday, we visited an island in the Philippines. It is only accessible by boat. It was hot and dusty. We saw no cars or other vehicles, only motorcycles and motorbikes with sidecars. About 1,600 people live there, including the children in this photo. Most of those living on the island are very poor.

2016-02-12 Remote Island children

A pastor with whom we work began a church among these unevangelized people. We ministered, prayed, told Bible stories to children, fed a simple meal and excited the children with candy and fun snacks.

There is a small school on the island. However, we saw many children of school age who were not in school. I asked the pastor about it. He said there are many children on the island who don’t go to school. Most are too poor to meet the financial requirements of school. Some had been sponsored at one time, but at this time there is no sponsoring group with a ministry on the island.

I believe God wants to move on the people in this place and change it and I believe it will start with the children. They are open to the Gospel. They have a good pastor. They need to get an education and good nutrition. God may speak to your heart about being part of what He wants to do among the people on the island.
