The Story of Three Young Sisters

The greatest fear of a sponsored child is that they will lose their sponsor and they will no longer be able to go to school. Unfortunately, that does occasionally happen. Thanks to treasured Fullness in Christ Ministries’ (FCM) ministry partners, we are able to take care of these children until new sponsors can be found.

The three sisters above were sponsored, but their sponsor got very sick and was no longer able to sponsor them. They are (left to right) Rhealene (age 10), Reyjane (age 9) and Rhianne (age 7). Their father is a pedal-bike driver and works very hard, but brings home very little income. His income is not enough to provide even adequate food for the family. The expenses of school are not at all possible. Without help, the girls cannot go to school and will simply repeat the poverty rather than rise above it.

Here are recent notes from the girls. Note the faith and the gratitude they express.

From Rhealene: Thank you for choosing me as your sponsored child. Thank you also for sponsoring my sisters. We are so happy and our parents, too. We are poor and we need the scholarship. This is a big help to us. I am doing my best in my studies and I help my younger sisters in doing their homework and studying their lessons. We also help my mother at home because she still needs to take care of our baby sister. My father is a good person and he works hard, but still he cannot earn enough money by driving a tricycle, because the gasoline is very expensive, and sometimes he gets sick because he works too much.

From Reyjane: Thank you so much for sponsoring me. I didn’t have a sponsor anymore, but God answered my prayer, because now you sponsored me. I will study hard, and go to school always, because I want to help my parents, someday, and I want to live in a good house, someday. I pity my mother because sometimes she gets sick in caring for us, because we are many and we don’t have enough food. I am happy that the scholarship will continue to give us food and school supplies. I will pray that you will have good health always. Thank you again, my sponsor.

From Rhianne: Thank you for sponsoring me. I thank God because He gave me a new sponsor. I was sad when my sponsor died. Thank you for being kind to help me and my sisters because we need food and school supplies and material for our school projects. I help my mother at home and I study my lessons every night. I also help take care of my baby sister.

For $90 a month you can sponsor children in need, just like these three sisters, and be part of God’s plan for their future. We have many children whom we are taking care of with general ministry funds for now, but they need a sponsor to secure their future and to pray for them. Sponsoring a child is a blessing to you and to them.

Sponsorship changes lives, not only for the children, but in many cases for the child’s family, as well. Everywhere we go in the Philippines, children come to us or to their pastors and ask if they can be “FCM Kids.” You can be part of giving hope to some very poor children in the Philippines. Your gifts change young lives forever.

If you don’t already sponsor a child, pray about it. Ask God if that is something for you to do. It will bless you. If you would like to sponsor a child, send an email to Kathy Bohlin at kathyb@fullnessnetwork.net and we will get you set up.

The end of the year holidays are soon approaching. Please consider giving an end of year tax deductible gift to FCM. You can honor Jesus at this season by giving to help to change young lives. About kathybohlin

I am passionate about helping poor children in Philippines come to Jesus, get an education and become all God created them to be. Right now our ministry (Fullness in Christ Ministries) helps over 1,200 of the poorest of the poor children in the Philippines. They are overseen by 28 national pastors whom we consider trustworthy and competent. There is accountability. I am single and contented with that. Also I want everyone to know how wonderful Jesus is!!
