Teaching and discipleship are key elements in FCM sponsorships. Every sponsored child or youth is assigned to a pastor who is responsible for teaching that child how to victoriously live the Christian life. These young people will one day be leaders in their communities and some even in the nation. Teaching them Christian character values and how to daily follow Jesus as Lord is as important as the education and the nutrition they receive.
When a child is sponsored, the ministry to them is 3-fold. They receive ministry in body (nutrition), soul (education) and spirit (Christian teaching and discipleship).
Your gifts to FCM are changing lives in the Philippines. Over 900 very poor and disadvantaged children and youth are being educated and discipled. Without your help, the children would not be able to finish school. Some would be forced to dig through trash for survival. Some would be recruited by terrorists. Others would become victims of trafficking. Some would die young because of the unhealthy lifestyle.
Instead these disadvantaged children, like those pictured above, are being taught to follow Jesus in salvation and being educated to become teachers, nurses, business owners, soldiers and seamen. Some even desire to become lawyers and doctors. All these dreams would be impossible without your help.
