The Story of Annaliza

Annaliza loves school and has lots of friends.

This pretty girl is Annaliza, one of Fullness in Christ Ministries’ (FCM) sponsored children in the Philippines. We have seen an amazing transformation in the life of this child. Life was very hard for her when we first met her.

About two years ago, one of our pastors wrote us about Annaliza. The pastor had discovered her living in extreme poverty. In her words, Annaliza “had an awful appearance, having dirty, smelly, torn and tattered clothes.” She was extremely shy and would not even speak when asked a question. She almost never went to school. She did not want to go to school, even if she could. The other kids either ignored her or teased her because “she smelled bad.” The beautiful black hair you see here was a mess and showed signs of malnutrition.

The pastor asked if there was any way FCM could help. If Annaliza were sponsored, she would have what she needed for school, and would have someone to care for her, making sure she bathed and combed her hair, and she would have some nutritious food to eat. The FCM’s team said “Yes!”

The change in Annaliza did not happen overnight. Sometimes she did not want to go to school and her pastor had to go get her out of bed. Gradually, little by little, she began to change. Her hygiene became better. She had new clothes for school, her attendance improved. As she got good nutrition, even her appearance improved. In a short two years, Annaliza is very different. She likes going to school now and has lots of friends.

It has taken a team, which included the pastor, a sponsor, and FCM, for this amazing transformation in Annaliza to blossom. Her pastor, Antoniette Larroza, has spent a lot of time teaching her and mentoring her. A sponsor from FCM has made sure Annaliza has everything she needs for school, and some help with nutrition.

Here is a note from Pastor Antoinette: “We visited Annaliza this morning in school. We paid for her school needs. She was very happy to see us. Thank You, Lord, for changing her life.”

When a sponsor, a local pastor, and FCM combine efforts, they help children reach their potential and fulfill the purpose God has for them. Don’t ever think what you give doesn’t make a difference. You can be part of giving hope to children like Annaliza. We need people to give to feed hungry children. We need more sponsors to send uneducated children to school. Your gifts change young lives forever. About kathybohlin

I am passionate about helping poor children in Philippines come to Jesus, get an education and become all God created them to be. Right now our ministry (Fullness in Christ Ministries) helps almost 900 of the poorest of the poor children in the Philippines. They are over seen by 24 national pastors whom we consider trustworthy and competent. There is accountability. I am single and contented with that. Also I want everyone to know how wonderful Jesus is!!
