Want to put a big smile on the faces of some children? Could we see to it that Christmas 2010 is a happy, happy time for about 500 of the poorest children in the Philippines and their families?Last year, because of the economic issues here in the US, we were unable to give Christmas gifts for our sponsored children in the Philippines. It broke our hearts. In some locations the pastors found a way to give small gifts to them. This year our desire is to really bless the children and make up for last year. Seeing the smiles and laughter of the sponsored children as they receive their Christmas blessing is a highlight of the year for us. At the end of this message is an opportunity for you to personally participate.
We have been talking about and praying about what God wants us to do for the children He has given us in the Philippines. What we believe we have heard is that God wants to bless families. It is amazing to see the number of families who are touched and changed as a result of the children being sponsored. It is common for an entire family to accept Jesus as Savior and begin to attend church or Bible studies regularly. We believe God wants us to bless these families this Christmas. Some of them have never received a gift or had a special meal. Would you like to bless one of the poorest of the poor families in the Philippines? Here’s the plan and how you can participate.
We will send extra money for Christmas to the FCM pastors in the Philippines who care for our sponsored children. This is much better than trying to send gifts and food from here. The shipping costs are extremely high and there is sometimes a problem getting items through government customs. We need at least $5000 to provide for the families of 500 children. We need to receive the funds by Thanksgiving so the funds can be sent to the pastors in time to prepare for Christmas.
To help give the best Christmas ever to our kids and their families, send your gift before Thanksgiving. Please be generous. You will be blessed in return.
