Rachel

We are very proud of Rachel, one of our sponsored students in the Philippines.  Rachel is 13 and in high school.  Her favorite subject is English and it is where she has her best grades.  She wants to be a teacher.  Last year she was the top honor student in her class.

Life is not easy for Rachel.  Her father is paralyzed and requires much care.  Her mother is the only breadwinner in the home.  She sells fish in the market, beginning very early in the morning, to support the family of 7.  Before going to school, Rachel cooks breakfast for the family, bathes and dresses her younger sisters (there is no running water in the house so water must be carried in).  After everything with the house and family is done, she gets herself ready for school.  She has a long way to get to school and most days arrives late.  Still she loves going to school and is very grateful that she has been chosen to be sponsored.  She knows it is the only way she can complete her education.  She is already asking God for a way to attend college so she can become a teacher.

About kathybohlin

I am passionate about helping poor children in Philippines come to Jesus, get an education and become all God created them to be. Right now our ministry (Fullness in Christ Ministries) helps almost 900 of the poorest of the poor children in the Philippines. They are over seen by 24 national pastors whom we consider trustworthy and competent. There is accountability. I am single and contented with that. Also I want everyone to know how wonderful Jesus is!!
